We don’t get to do this very often, so we want to take a moment to share something we’re genuinely proud of.
Forbes Global Properties has just released Explore Pacific Mexico, a destination magazine devoted to our slice of the country — the Pacific coastline stretching from Costalegre in the south, through Puerto Vallarta, and up the length of Riviera Nayarit to the surf towns and jungle-cliff resorts of the north.
As the exclusive Forbes Global Properties member firm representing the Pacific Riviera, LPR Luxury collaborated on the editorial direction, the photography, and the property selections featured throughout. The result is a 106-page volume that reads less like a brochure and more like a portrait of a place.
You can read the entire issue above — and we’d love it if you did.
Why this magazine, and why now
Forbes Global Properties is the worldwide real estate partner of Forbes, an invitation-only network of distinguished brokerages across more than 600 markets. Each year, the network publishes destination editions devoted to a single coastline, a single city, or a single way of life — produced once, with care, by editors and photographers who actually spend time on the ground.
The Pacific Coast of Mexico was chosen for this edition because the region has reached a particular inflection point. International buyers are arriving in greater numbers. New developments — Mandarina, Xala, Nauka, Tabo, Tokipa — are redefining what “coastal luxury” means in the Americas. And yet the soul of the place hasn’t changed: the fishing villages, the artisans, the cobblestone evenings, the unhurried mornings, the deep regard for landscape and sea.
This magazine is an attempt to capture both — the contemporary opportunity and the timeless character.
What’s inside
The issue is organized as a journey. It opens with a welcome to the Pacific Coast and a primer on its three distinct lifestyles — the cosmopolitan rhythm of Puerto Vallarta, the layered diversity of Riviera Nayarit (from Punta Mita’s gated exclusivity to the bohemian energy of Sayulita and San Pancho), and the protected wildness of Costalegre, where Careyes, Xala, and Tabo continue to define a quieter form of luxury.
From there, the editorial flows through:
- The climate and seasons — why 300+ days of sunshine shape the way homes are built and lives are lived here.
- A short history of the Pacific Riviera — from the Wixarika and Concheros peoples through the Night of the Iguana era that put Puerto Vallarta on the map, to the artists, architects, and visionaries who shaped Careyes and Costalegre into something singular.
- The art of living on the Pacific Coast — a meditation on architecture, atmosphere, and the dialogue between buildings and the natural world.
- Pacific prestige — a guided tour of the most coveted coastal regions, with property spotlights including Auberge Residences at Punta de Mita, Villa Amapas 1, One&Only Private Home 48 at Mandarina, Casa Sol Oriente in Careyes, and the emerging Tokipa community.
- Sustainable and responsible living — how low-impact architecture, renewable systems, marine protection, and community stewardship are becoming the defining features of luxury along this coast.
- Ocean and water activities — sailing the Banderas Bay, Marietas Islands snorkeling, sport fishing, sea-turtle releases, the Hidden Beach at Marietas, Yelapa, Las Caletas, Majahuitas.
- Land and nature adventures — the Sierra de Vallejo Biosphere Reserve, hikes from Boca de Tomatlán, horseback rides along the tide line near Lo de Marcos, canopy and zipline circuits, La Tovara wetlands.
- Golf — Punta Mita’s Pacífico and Bahía courses (Jack Nicklaus), Vista Vallarta (Nicklaus + Weiskopf), Higuera (Greg Norman), Vidanta (Norman / PGA Tour Mexico Open), Mandarina (Norman short course), and Nauka (Tom Fazio).
- Polo and the equestrian lifestyle — La Patrona in San Pancho, Mandarina, Vista Paraíso, Careyes Polo Club.
- Spa and wellness — Remède at the St. Regis, One&Only Spa at Mandarina, Apuane at Four Seasons Punta Mita, Haramara Retreat in Sayulita, Sense at Rosewood Mandarina.
- Culinary experiences — Hector’s Kitchen, Si Sushi, the Zarandeado class at Auberge Susurros del Corazón, agave and tequila programs at the Four Seasons.
- Culture, events, and the soul of the Riviera — markets, music festivals, the Careyes Polo Cup, Ondalinda, the Whale Festival, the San Pancho Music Festival.
- Transportation and accessibility — PVR’s record-breaking 2024 (6.8 million passengers), the new sustainable terminal under construction, private aviation through Aerotron, helicopter transfers, marina infrastructure at La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.
- Education and healthcare directories — the international schools and private hospitals that make full-time residency feel as supported as anywhere else in the world.
It’s the kind of resource we wish we’d had to share with clients five years ago. We have it now.
Featured property highlights
A handful of properties anchor the editorial. If you’ve been following our portfolio, you’ll recognize some of them — and if you haven’t, this is a good place to start:
- Auberge Residences, Punta de Mita — the refined beachfront retreat at Susurros del Corazón.
- Villa Amapas 1 — three bedrooms (with optional fourth) overlooking the Bay of Banderas from the hillsides above Puerto Vallarta.
- One&Only Private Home 48, Mandarina — sculptural, near-invisible architecture above the rainforest canopy.
- Casa Sol Oriente, Careyes — a property that captures everything Costalegre is celebrated for.
